Stand back, I've got a sheep!

Hololive is less of an idol agency... and more of an entertainment agency.

    AsaCoco (Morning Coco)

  • Coco says she can't stream the news in English, and shows a video example as explanation. The first words out of her mouth are "Good morning, motherfuckers!" and it only goes downhill from there.
  • The show in general tends to really push the boundaries as to what is allowed by Youtube and Hololive itself, and due to unknown reasons Coco received a temporary ban to livestreaming. Her first video after being banned has a very prominent image saying she was banned, along with two middle fingers next to the Youtube logo. She also tweeted out this video, showcasing a Cluster F-Bomb (as well as fanart of her flipping her audience off and a clip from her laser hair removal stream) as one of the many possible reasons she got banned.
  • Kiryu Coco's news coverage of Watame's (at the time) bad internet, with the highlight being Watame giving her infamous apology live... only to get cut off by the internet buffer before she could say "Is not at fault here, right?" leaving Coco speechless.
  • The first advertisement for Instant AsaCoco (in liquid, gaseous form, or injections), is comedy gold.

Watame: Ah, I can feel it! I can feel your crappy jokes directly to my brain!
    Coco: (high dragon noises)

  • Stimulant-Type AsaCoco, which is just straight up cocaine. Before Watame can finish saying the product name, she's cut off by a police siren, implying that she and Coco got arrested.

PSA: Never, ever do drugs. Cheating is prohibited. —Angel Police (with a portrait of Kanata with a police uniform edited over her)

  • Coco's reacts to an "artists depiction" of Watame's "Helmet". The long Beat and her simultaneous loss of composure are what really sell it.
  • On May 5th, Coco had released a prerecorded episode of Asacoco (due to her stream ban still being in effect) used it as an opportunity to promote auditions for the English language branch of Hololive. The entire sequence started out with Coco Kaine, a character of her own creation, telling viewers to shut up and watch the advertisement, which she had done in the style of Tim and Eric's "free house" skit.
  • After the hiatus ended, the show has been reformatted to incorporate a bit of her other project, the Shitpost Review, as part of a "Daily Meme" segment along with providing news around hololive's antics. Due to this crossover, she started also carrying over some jokes, the prime example being September 23's "daily meme" being a rendition of the "jealous girlfriend" with a shirtless YAGOO being the target, something she had encouraged on her other show for her audience to make. She never expected anyone to follow through on creating "YAGOO lewds," but her audience immediately urged her to take responsibility and told her that this was her cross to bear.
  • Coco brought up Luna's English-only stream, with a joke stating that neither overseas nor Japanese fans could understand her due to her accent. Luna was not happy.
  • Coco announced her return to activity with another Asacoco episode on October 19th, and it was a fantastic demonstration that her 3-week hiatus had little impact on her ability to entertain.
    • She kicks it off with the usual fare: "GET THE FUCK OUT OF YOUR BEDS, MOTHERFUCKERS!"
    • Special mention goes to the increasingly shoddy censor bars as the segment advanced.
    • Unique to this episode is a fake ad for Asacoco University, featuring Fubuki as a PhD graduate. It also goes with a statue of Coco posing like The Thinker while using a toilet.
    • Behind her avatar is a looping fake chat scroll filled with in-jokes. After her Asacoco ad segment, she noticed that the actual chat was flooding with non-stop superchats trying to "purchase" it, and reflects it by speeding up the fake scroll until it blows up.
    • She ends the stream with an artwork with the words "Don't forget to subscribe if you loved it. If you hated it... FUCK U and never come back" right next to an adorable Coco wearing a dragon costume. It's as if Coco is self-aware about her previous situation and is as foul-mouthed as ever.
  • On 9th of November's edition, it turns out Coco had caught up with a certain Youtuber by the name of 'Platinumknight' that had been requesting videos of some of the Holo-EN cast from Big Man Tyrone. She featured the videos during the show and did fairly well at keeping her composure till Kiara's video upon which she almost completely fell apart. The moment the chat saw Platinum's channel name, they went absolutely giddy with anticipation.
  • In the middle of her anniversary stream, Coco throws in an unofficial Asacoco episode, where among other things she advertises new merchandise — an 80cm long plushie of her tail. Coco delves a little into its development history: the first prototype had an actual rubber tip and she had to explain that it's not supposed to be used like a buttplug. So the next prototype had a plush nib... but now it's also flesh-colored. Coco deliberately adds a mosaic to this to show how indecent it looked. The final product has a grey, plush nib like she intended.

    Ame in the A.M.

  • Amelia Watson started her own successor to AsaCoco, and it's just as wacky.
  • The August 29th, 2021 broadcast:
    • When talking about Gura and Shion's engagement, the chat starts going "NTR!" Ame immeditely shoots that down.
    • She talks about "Amane Kanada", Kanata's counterpart from Generation 104. Which also takes place in a timeline where Marine is 80 and Yagoo no longer runs Cover Corp. Instead it's his son Yagoo Jr. Ame immediately says she "made that up".
    • The first commercial has Ollie walk in Ame's office, looking for a chess opponent. Ame has Sana's orb that lets her see the future. They look into it and find Ollie beating Smol Ame at chess (and she flips the table in response). Just as Amelia tries to invalidate Ollie's future victory, Sana comes crashing into the office without her size limiter, forcing the two to evacuate in a panic.
    • The whole broadcast got hit with the EN Curse as some videos didn't play sound. One about Aki being a cat toy was cut off, and Amelia vowed to fire her news team. Then she tried to play the second commercial only for the sound to not work.
    • The second commercial (when it finally worked) has Amelia offer the viewers a free sample of Watson Concoction. This time, it starts off tame, treating the viewer to Minecraft scenery, but it slowly gets weirder as it gets populated by Smol Ame bees, and ends in a Smol Ame rocket jetting constantly into the sky. The ad ends on a sped-up reading of its side effects, courtesy of Calli.
    • The technical difficulty screen has Smol Ame pulling the plug out of the wall, which is perfectly in character for her.
    • She reveals that Hololive now has a second rapping idol with Nene-G. We then get to hear her hot new track. It's just Nene saying "That is wiggity wiggity-whack, G." (in English)
    • During Smol Ame's weather report, she discusses the influx of the Jack-O pose. She tries to do it herself but is unable, so she draws a (very crude) rendition of it. With sunglases.

    The Legend of Polka

  • The first episode sees her answering mail-in questions from children and generally helping out with their worries. YAGOO (using a Gag Censor) makes a surprise appearance at the end of it, instantly taking apart the already rocky premise by bluntly stating he's 47 years old and declaring himself in the "41st grade", much to Polka's confusion and amusement. His "worry" is a bout of stiff shoulders, which causes Polka to slouch over in embarrassment and half-jokingly tell YAGOO to buy several massage chairs for the office.
  • Polka ends up playing Ping Pong League , Cover's first game, after Izutsu-san claims to have randomly stumbled upon it during her Steam library browsing.
    • Polka's first match against the easy difficulty AI has her wondering out loud why it's not returning her serves, thinking the game's broken, until Izutsu-san points out that the ball has to bounce once off Polka's side of the court for the serve to count, unlike in tennis. This sets the mood for most of the first half of the episode, which is a montage of Polka screaming a lot at the game.
    • The second half of the episode is an interview with YAGOO about the development of the game. He and his staff delved into Unity engine thinking that game development wouldn't be that hard, only for them to realize the game's doomed to fail some months into development - Polka just chuckles at how bluntly YAGOO stated that fact. He also mentions that Cover's motion tracking and character animation tech came about as a side feature of Ping Pong League, to which Polka asks:

Polka: Whoa. So hololive was birthed from ping pong, then?

  • "Huh? Is this sneeze really a hololive member's?" takes the kushami tasukaru meme to its logical conclusion by quizzing Polka on which sneezes are who's.
    • Izutsu opens the episode with a cough-like sneeze, explaining that she might have hay fever. Polka eggs her on to do it again, to which Izutsu says she can't do stuff like that on command, only to sneeze even louder mere seconds later. Polka then tries to explain the "gap moe" aspect of sneezes, but Izutsu finds it too complicated.
    • During the quiz, Polka initially guesses that Person #1 is Sora, before backpedalling and saying that she'd find it unforgivable if the staff recorded Sora sneezing just for the program. After listening to it again, she guesses correctly that it's Matsuri, saying that her second "sneeze" was obviously intentionally played for Rule of Cute.
    • Person #2's sneeze is an indistinct "psh", with Polka comparing it to a soda can opening or a breeze. After listening to it again, both her and the script writer both break out into laughter as Polka yells "How am I supposed to know!?". When Izutsu reveals that the answer is Watame, Polka refuses to believe that she actually sneezes like that and thinks it was something recorded off-stream. (For the record, Watame really does sneeze that softly.)
    • Person #3 is just Botan doing a really poor impression of a sneeze, which Polka figures out almost immediately.
    • Person #4 is a "HENNG" that sounds so obviously like Subaru that Polka and the script writer break out into laughter again. Izutsu asks Polka if she's sure, which actually causes Polka to second-guess herself for a bit.
    • Izutsu makes Polka do some extra work for the prize the staff planned for winning the quiz (a trip to the beach) by having Polka sneeze, with Izutsu judging it. Polka produces a bombastic one by tickling her nose with tissues (like in her debut stream), making Izutsu laugh for quite a bit before saying Polka's won her prize.

    General gaming moments

  • Sometimes a member establishes a Self-Imposed Challenge, with the penalty of terminating the stream if they fail it. This occasionally results in very short streams.
  • In various members' Tetris 99 streams, YAGOO (or someone pretending to be YAGOO anyway) signed on and kept intentionally losing immediately after the streamer, just so they'd see his name one or two spaces above theirs in the results screen. Many fans declared this YAGOO's revenge for the hololive girls raising his blood pressure.
  • Grand Theft Auto V:
    • Whenever anyone gets to the ending cutscene of "Franklin and Lamar", they will inevitably attempt to harmonize with Lamar Davis when he drops the N-word at the end of his rant; it's become so commonplace that anyone who plays the game and repeats Lamar is said to be automatically given N-Word Privileges. It's more notable for the ones that have experienced the scene and have not repeated Lamar: Moona, who knows enough English to figure out what the word means and didn't want to say it for fear of offending her audience, Roboco, who has seen the scene from Miko before and is wise enough to not explicitly say it (she did say "nibba", however), Aqua Kanata, and Noel, who weren't paying attention at all to the scene (with special mention to Noel, who was actively paying attention in order to avoid it), Flare, who said "Noooo!" with a tune, and Suisei, who just laughed. While Miko did avoid saying the N-word in her second playthrough of this mission, she ended up muttering it anyway during "The Long Stretch". Holo En's Amelia and Gura, both of whom are native English speakers, put a self aware spin on this, with Amelia harmonizing the word "Nickel", and Gura saying "N...n...Nya!"
    • As their attempts of completing the driving part of the same mission can attest to, their driving skills are left to be desired. While somewhat justifiable to the difficulty to adapting with the left-hand driving system where the game is set and struggling to adapt with the driving controls, expect them to run over civilians and crash into cars and walls all the time before even reaching their destination. Temma initially subverted this during his first hours of the game, driving slowly and obeying the traffic rules, only then to start speeding past red lights and crashing into things later on and at one point, parked his car in a handicap parking spot. Meanwhile, Suisei does this deliberately as she pretends that, to her, the civilians are like the gold coins in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. Talk about Insane Troll Logic.
    • Whenever they come accross the game's sexual content (i.e. the antivirus clicking section from "Friend Request"), expect them to have a Freak Out and hastily attempt to cover it up with their avatar or something else. For those who had completed "The Jewel Store Job" however, chances are they'll accidentally wander into Vanilla Unicorn's "premium longue" without knowing what it is... and realized just too late as the private dance scene starts. Poor Miko, Haato, and Kanata all learned this the hard way. To add insult to injury, following "The Jewel Store Job" is "Mr. Philips", which begins with a cutscene of Trevor explicitly making love, pants down and all.
  • Both Suisei and Luna have individually played Muse Dash's resident Surprise Creepy song, もぺもぺ (MopeMope), and their reactions couldn't be any more different. Suisei ends up freaking out for the remainder of the song after the creep factor kicks in, while Luna continues making random noises along with the notes as if nothing's happening.
  • This compilation of various members playing an indie horror game Convenience Store displays all of them reacting to the exact same jumpscare of the store manager (sometimes jokingly referred to as YAGOO by fans) surprising them as they walk into the locker room during a rainy night. Aside from Sora, nearly all the girls are some level of terrified by this, to the point of cursing him out as soon as they see him pop up or flailing about so much that they end up knocking things over. It seems not even the EN branch is immune to this jumpscare, either.
  • Undertale:
  • When Kuukiyomi 3 came out in March 2021, many of the hololive girls played it. Some of the situations they were forced to "read the air" in were somewhat risqué, and their reactions to those were priceless. Some of the other girls, in their playthroughs, decide to take the inconsiderate choice at every opportunity just because they could.
    • When confronted with an unexpected ad showing lions mating, some of them click on the ad itself rather than the skip button, and get taken to a lioness dating site. Some of them mistake the ad to be the "interesting video". Botan, in particular, goes "I like the one on the right..." If you're sharp-eyed, the video that plays after the ad is the In-Universe Virtual Celebrity playing Kuukiyomi, so we have VTubers playing Kuukiyomi while reacting to a video of a VTuber playing Kuukiyomi.
    • One of the scenarios features a Virtual Celebrity whose rigging glitches out revealing an old man behind the curtain. Some of the girls are too shocked to look away, while others quickly smash the screen. Some of them, Sora included, turn the character to directly face the viewer, and tell the audience to act like they saw nothing.
    • One of the situations involves the player as a girlfriend on a date, against a "test your strength" machine. Korone doesn't let herself get shown up by the boyfriend, and punches it at maximum power, breaking the machine. What's even more amusing is that she's known to box as a hobby and thus could do the same in real life! Okayu on the other hand discovers she can move sideways and proceeds to punch the boyfriend instead.
  • Several of the talents, both on hololive and holostars, began playing Monster Hunter: Rise at launch. While most of the thumbnails befit the game they look forward to, others are... different. Temma's thumbnail is a crude sketch of him fighting one of the monsters, while Ina's swaps her face with Joey's creepy chin.
  • A number of Hololive's members have streamed Resident Evil Village and all of them have noticed that Donna Beneviento's Creepy Doll, Angie, sounds just like Marine. When Marine hears it for herself in the Oneesangumi's second stream of the game, she denies any resemblance and claims that it actually sounds like Ollie all the while doing some eerily spot-on impressions. The fact that she has an Elegant Gothic Lolita skin akin to Rozen Maiden doesn't help matters. She finally relents when she sees Subaru encounters the doll in her own stream.

Subaru: (After stabbing Angie the first time) "Senchou... So this is what has become of you..."

    [In Noel's stream]

Marine: "Apparently, Subaru-senpai just found out that Angie sounds like me."

Noel: "I guess everyone can notice that."

Marine: (As Angie) "Yo, Subaru-senpai! ARE YOU SCARED?!"

    • This video compares how the different talents solve the piano puzzle. Most of them work out the sheet music and play it, with Miko and Botan notably exhibiting more proficiency at reading it. Noel, on the other hand, blindly presses a key, realizes that the game displays the note she just played, and brute-forces the puzzle.
  • The Henry Stickmin Collection:
    • When a wrong option is chosen and gets a FAIL, expect them to be hyped by the choice they picked before interrupting themselves halfway through and laugh at Henry's misfortune.
    • Many have found Charles' antics throughout Infiltrating the Airship onwards amusing because of how absurd his methods of assistance are.
    • One particular option in the "Grappling Gun" route in Airship involves Henry getting on a computer to access the Toppat Clan's secret files... and gets sidetracked by Civilization V, getting himself caught after playing for so long. Many talents, mainly from the Japanese side, noticed this and amusingly lampshades the addictive nature of Civilization in order to get such a FAIL. Miko on the other hand, somehow mistook the game for Grand Theft Auto V due to its similar desktop logos.
    • When the option comes up, it's likely for the talents to get "distracted" by the "Distraction" FAIL from Fleeing the Complex (with the exception of Marine, who ignored the option, and Roberu, who calls Henry, Ellie, and the two guards "idiots" instead) and, for those who achieved the Triple Threat ending, the "Diversion" option from Completing the Mission. Some even get irritated over the game's instant interruption of the "Dance-Off" options in Mission.
    • The "Spirit Forme" sequence is what happens when those fluent in Japanese meet its intentionally broken Japanese dubbing. Every time, the talents take a moment to realize that the sequence is dubbed in "Japanese". Marine, in particular, has a blast with the JoJo reference and thoroughly enjoys how scuffed it is. She notes that the wonky dub is how the Western viewers perceive her Maringlish.
    • When Miko gets presented with a "rock paper scissors" option against the Right Hand Man in one of the Mission routes, she thinks it refers to Tsunomaki Janken, Watame's personal minigame which she has a terrible win-loss record at. Naturally, when Right Hand Man doesn't play along and gives Henry a face full of laser, Miko laments yet another loss.
  • Some of the talents (Pekora, Okayu, Miko, and Roboco) have played and reached the alternate ending of Tsugu No Hi Evil God Korone and their reaction is priceless when they learn of Korone's in-game arrest. It gets better as they all start chanting along to the "Korone brainwashing song", and they're left in stitches when the police interrupt her with a neck-bending blow.
    • Naturally, Korone is the first to showcase the game (but doesn't reach the alternate ending, since it's a preview before its launch date). Her reactions are a mixture of genuine fright and amusement, especially when the game uses the cartoonish designs of the Koronesuki to creepy effect.
    • In early November, Korone announced a 2-week hiatus for health reasons (which then later turned into an entire month). Given that this came shortly after several hololive members played and showcased that Tsugu no Hi ending, it's inevitable that some would joke that the "real" reason is that she's "arrested for brainwashing". This became a Brick Joke once Korone concluded her hiatus — her return stream frames her as being imprisoned as an aftermath of that ending, even though she didn't get that ending herself. She breaks herself out of her cell... and then gets immediately arrested again.
    • Sana's playthrough of the game has her reach the arrested ending first after accidentally discovering that you can continue walking left at the dialogue choice. When she goes for a second playthrough to see the brainwashed ending, she notices that her designer, Pako, has changed his icon to feature Yatagarasu as a Koronesuki, and several of the chat follow suit by changing their display pics to that same image. When she descends further into madness, she changes her avatar to a Sana-styled Koronesuki to fit the occasion.
    • During Baelz's playthrough, the odd spacing of the ramen shop sign makes her read it as "The people's dis hes". It takes her a while to realize her mistake. Baelz also gets mistaken on what a lobotomy is, revealing a graphic understanding about the procedure, and she has to be corrected by chat (and Mumei).
  • In early February 2022, several talents played NEEDY STREAMER OVERLOAD. Between each stream, a common observation is for chat to notice that the in-game chat is a remarkably spot-on imitation of real life. The chat will then proceed to mimic the in-game chat, ending each of her in-game streams with a flurry of "BLESS" and also sending superchats to match the in-game superchats seen. See the individual talents' pages for unique moments.
  • Several talents play Elden Ring, and after clearing the tutorial they meet Varre, who calls their character "maidenless". The general reaction is to not take too kindly to being sassed. Of note is Gura, who attacks Varre for his insult, and dies multiple times in the ensuing duel before finally emerging victorious. Calli couldn't help but laugh upon hearing of this.
    • A few talents leave messages of their own, leading to players flocking in search of that message to appraise it, giving them free healing. Ina gets overwhelmed with how often she's healed and erases her message so that she can continue to experience a challenge. In contrast, Amelia berates and threatens the Teamates if they fail to heal her in tense moments.

    UMISEA Shorts

  • Starting September 2021, hololive introduced Team UMISEA, consisting of the four aquatic theme members at the time (Marine, Aqua, Gura, and Ina). To celebrate this, they released multiple animated shorts.
  • Episode 1 ends with Gura accidentally blowing Marine's ship up.
  • Episode 2 has them stranded on a desert island. When they try to find water, Marine asks if Aqua "has to go" (implying that she's willing to drink urine).
  • Episode 3 has them find a deep sea temple, only for a mysterious horror to take them all away. The horror was actually Ina, who took them back to shore because that temple held her embarrassing old artwork.

    Miscellaneous/Unsorted

  • This compilation from the official channel illustrating the evolution of the Vtubers over time, from generic "sweet and pure" idols into what we have today:
    • Some of the most striking examples feature Rushia and Miko, whose "after" comparison highlights paint them as stark raving mad.

Rushia (before): All of you Fandead will protect me, right?
Rushia (after): Log in already, will you!? COME ON!! (starts angrily banging on her table repeatedly)
Miko (before): ...and my dream is to become an idol!
Miko (after): FUCKING CASINO! (shoots rockets at said casino)

    • On the other hand, while Korone has certainly changed throughout her time in hololive, the video shows that she's been...interesting since day one.

Korone (before):(stares with creepy BGM in the distance)
Korone (after): (Playing Rock-Paper-Scissors against someone with a Kadomatsu on her head)

  • For every VTuber she interviews, in or out of hololive, Choco gives them a standardized quiz where they have to answer as many questions as they can within 3 minutes. Some get a rather low score, some get a rather high score, some come very close to answering all the questions correctly, and some barely get even a single answer right:
  • Kanata's Imitation Game started off as an impromptu prank on Aqua, where she, Marine, Matsuri and Fubuki all got in a call together to imitate Marine (with Marine doing a bad imitation of herself) in order to trick Aqua and have her guess which Marine is the real one. After this, Kanata and A-chan turned it into a game to figure out who the real Marine was at a later date, with independent vtuber Natori Sana replacing Matsuri. This all culminated with the last imitation game (to date): Kanata impersonating Coco, Coco impersonating Kanata impersonating herself, and artist/independent vtuber Ui Shigure (Subaru's close friend and character artist) impersonating Watame impersonating herself. The last one is especially ironic considering one of the people they called was Subaru herself, and she couldn't identify her own artist's voice.
  • In celebration of her 2 year anniversary, Roberu and Matsuri held a collaboration on Roberu's channel. At one point, Matsuri demanded that Roberu get her a gift. When asked specifically what she wanted, her response was an older brother. She then went on to describe him in a way that wouldn't be out of place in an eroge. What follows is a classic example of a Boke and Tsukkomi Routine, showcasing both of their comedic talent and ability to play off each other.

Matsuri: Of course (my older brother) is not real. That's why I'm asking for one. Do you want the job?

    • The moment just after that was golden as well:
  • During Rikka's 3D debut, all members of holostars sent a short message to congratulate him for getting his model. These messages range from being impressed with Rikka's model to looking forward for his future 3D streams...and then there's Arurandeisu, who instead opts to make a parody of Evangelion's infamous "congratulations!" scene, complete with a knock-off version of the main theme.
  • Compared to their Japanese branch, the MV for hololive ID 1st gen's cover of Ochame Kinou slips some cheeky trivia and Stealth Insults directed to all three members.

    Iofi: "An art student."

    Moona: "Poker-faced idol."

    • Hololive ID 2nd gen's cover is no slouch either:

Ollie: "Her house is a ramen shop."
      Anya: "Ritual incarnate."
      Reine: "Magic exam student."

  • This UNO game among Subaru, Suisei, Fubuki and Haato had made them sound like monkeys.
  • Between a new generation's announcement and their debut videos, new talents would create their accounts on Twitter to engage the audience. Aloe's Twitter account got temporarily frozen due to unknown circumstances — many suspect she listed her account's birth date as her debut date, leading to Twitter freezing the account due to it being "underage". Shien Kageyama of holostars was guilty of this mistake for his debut, and was surprised that Aloe's account got frozen faster than his.
  • After moving out to a new apartement complex with Kanata, Coco decided to buy a cooking pot online to cook some pork miso soup. What Coco wasn't aware of, is that the pot she bought was massive, even dwarfing out the Kanata standee she has for scale. The pair joked on how the pot could cook enough soup for almost the entirety of hololive, and how the pot is so big, Kanata can fit inside it and Coco can mutilate someone and hide the body parts there. When Coco went out to get the pot, viewers are treated to the sounds of the pot scraping against the floor as she presented it to Kanata.
  • After Hololive EN all got Superchats enabled on the same day, their respective audiences took their jokes and ran with it:
    • One fan sending money to Calli to apologize for disturbing her streams, as well as sending a message of encouragement, under the name "Noisy Neighborhood Ghostrider."
    • Someone sending her the first few lines of Bee Movie got Calli to stop reading for a few seconds just to laugh at the absurdity of the attempt; despite the character limit, she called the donor a legend for doing so.
    • Kiara's donations being flooded with fast food orders (as well as what the speculated prices of said orders would be) that ranged from things taken from the menu she had designed in a previous stream to Big Smoke's order and Bubble Bass' order.
    • Gura's messages being mostly comprised of just "a".
    • Amelia decided to start the stream by making it rain before singing the opening lines from ''Here Comes The Money''. This resulted in her viewers erupting into references to Knack since she had stated in a Q&A stream that her sense of humor was influenced by videogamedunkey.
  • During Gura's first Q&A stream Matsuri unexpectedly popped into the chat to tell Gura that she loves her and even donated a Super Chat. Under normal circumstances this would be seen as something heartwarming but given that this is Matsuri we're talking about... It was not helped by Matsuri then telling Gura "you my wife". Cue the chat exploding in pleas for Gura to either run or for someone to call the FBI while Matsuri's declaration left Gura herself flustered and confused. Matters only improve as Fubuki went on to claim Gura as her wife on Twitter.
  • Marine decides to join reddit as one of /r/hololive's moderators, like several of the other girls have done. Except that her user name is "HoushouMarineLEGIT". Her profile was immediately flagged as "18+", due to her banner being a picture of her in a bikini looking flirtatious, and her avatar being a close up of her stomach. She also included the following introduction: "Based, super-lit, dope, beautiful young girl (NOT BOOMER), I don't have a pirate ship, but I have the pirate spirit super lit!! (lmao)". The few posts she made would also qualify for a number of reasons, including being marked Not Safe for Work as a general thing.
    • During Calli's 【英会話カフェ】LET'S PRACTICE ENGLISH, SLOWLY! :} stream, she revealed that she was the one who taught her the slang, and that Marine had specifically approached her for help. Meaning that Marine, who tries her hardest to appear young and has been jokingly nicknamed a Boomer by the English fans, decided the best person to ask for help was the girl who has also been called a Boomer by the English fanbase.
  • While Amelia needing to renovate and restate the rules on her channel is not exactly amusing (chat had been heavily misbehaving and backseating during an earlier Witcher stream), she managed to insert some humor in it.

"No Backseating: I like to play games my own way: mostly by learning through experience and being wrong. Sometimes, I will ask for help and even then, I may choose not to take your advice. Launch the game yourself if you want to see it played your way or at least pay money to yell at me (」゚ロ゚)」$$$"

  • One Luna fan (Or Luknight) took a 3D Poster of Luna with them to buy a Nvidia 3070 at Micro Center following a wager. They took photos of Luna around the store, including being next to a stand of Shaq, had a video of it but to top it all off Luna herself tweeted in reply to it insisting that JP LuKnights will do the same!
  • For Halloween 2020, the Hololive members released a number of new songs and covers, including spooky party tunes, dramatic songs... and Surprise Paradise, a cover of Jingle Bells. That was Polka's idea, because after all, what better way to get into the "surprise" spirit than to release it on the completely wrong holiday?
  • On 14 November 2020, Trash Taste had an episode featuring Calliope. To help guide Connor to the kind of content he seeks, Calliope recommended he watch Amelia's stream, citing her as the "toxic gamer type". True enough, Connor drops a superchat into one of her streams, starting his entry into the Hololive fandom. Amelia mispronounces his name and tries to fake a British accent, and "Cannur" got quickly adopted by the audience as another nickname for him.

CDawgVA (Connor, in the YouTube comments): How are you guys so fast wtf this was like 4 hours ago

  • After the debut of the English branch, Haachama was slightly hurt that she's lost her niche of being one of the members who's most fluent in English. Since her collabs with the English branch she's also jokingly plotted infiltrating them and staging a takeover. Cut to mid-November 2020 when Coco jokingly tweeted of her and Haachama being "Hololive EN 0th Gen".
  • A fanmade remix turns Amelia's ASMR reading of Fox in Socks into a rap. In the comments, Calliope is mourning the loss of her "throne" of being the best rapper in Hololive. Calliope's occasionally received requests to rap Fox In Socks since then, and she's declined it each time saying that she can't outdo this.
  • Fubuki and Aruran made a song together about Italian food. As in, almost every word of the song is the name of a type of Italian food, or telling people to eat it. It must be seen to be believed.
  • ID Gen 2 barely got announced and within mere hours were getting welcomed into the meme filled world of the community. Even their Senpais couldn't help themselves as Ina very quickly made art joking about the fact Ollie has a sword in her head... note Anya is a humanized sword and Calli quickly set her sights on the newcomers in scary fashion. Reine was also quick to the shitposting field with jokes that she was doing an RTA on ruining Yagoo's dreams.
  • The question of pineapple on pizza continues to be a divisive subject, with each member of hololive clear about where they stand on the matter. That is, except for Polka:

Polka: "I think pineapple on pizza is fine..."
    * gets disconnected from a session of Among Us*
Polka: "The connection dropped because I supported pineapple on pizza! Oh my goooooood!"
    * starts a new game*
Polka: "Pizza shouldn't have pineapple after all."

  • During Mio's 2nd Anniversary concert, Fubuki asks why Mio is hiding behind an illustration. She reveals to Fubuki that she is getting married. Fubuki is less than pleased when told about it.
  • To celebrate YAGOO's birthday, the Cover staff presented him with a cake. Said cake had several YAGOO Waddling Head decorations. That said, he still seemed incredibly happy and amused that his face had become a meme among the community. In addition, his Twitter feed was full of talent and fans alike making light-hearted jokes at his expense, including parroting his standard "Congratulations!!!" messages.
  • A sudden Google services outage in mid-December threw many streaming schedules into disarray, and left those who were streaming at the moment unable to properly end theirs. Some fans jokingly theorized that Calliope went to murder YouTube as revenge for Kiara's ban. The next day, Ina Tweeted that she had a strange dream of a giant Amelia ground-pounding the satellite.
  • Beyond the Stage is a major live concert, and amidst the fantastic performances by the talents there's always a few funny moments to find:
    • Luna proves true to herself during the opening act, by completely running out of breath after one song, much to the hilarity of her genmates (especially Coco, who later literally cartwheeled onto the stage).
    • Marine's trademark "Ahoy! We are the Houshou Pirates" has the usual line about how she's too NSFW for Youtube and is going to get banned... except this time, the special effects actually add a ban overlay to her model for a split second.
    • The interludes for both days feature updated versions of Watame's "Can You Say Hololive?", including everyone up to Indonesia 2nd Gen. Things get comedic when Rushia ends up throwing Pekora out for taking too long with her konpekos, and then we get to Coco...

Coco: Uh, I've never really had a trademark greeting...
Watame: Eh!? Come on, Coco-chi, introduce yourself properly!

      • Gura's and Amelia's introductory greetings are their trademark "a" and "hic".
      • In a Blink-and-You-Miss-It moment, Calli's face changes from a smiling expression to an annoyed one in the background of Kiara's trademark "Kikkeriki!" greeting.
    • One of the last few songs performed in STAGE 1 "Curry Meshi Miracle" from the Nissin collab. But without Subaru present to round out Spice Love (Subaru + Pekora + Aqua), someone had to fill in — Haachama. The song performed transformed into "Hacha-Mecha Miracle" ("Total Mess Miracle"), and audience was rife with cooking jokes.
  • The official Hololive twitter account announced a celebratory item for Matsuri getting 500k Twitter followers: a giant plush of her mascot, Ebifrion. In the official images containing information about pricing and size, it also included a "YAGOO size comparison," which was Yagoo with a neutral, "dead inside" facial expression while holding the plush up, something which easily is the size of his torso. Since then he seems to be the go-to model whenever a talent releases either clothes or a large item; he has since modeled Ina's Takodachi beanbag, Gura's birthday merchandise, and Coco's birthday/graduation collection.
  • Marine's Youtube channel features a host of fan-submitted short videos over which the Hololive members get to dub. Among them:
  • During several streams, the official Discord YouTube channel made comments on several hololivers' streams. While Pekora and Aqua didn't notice them, the rest of them reacted with varying levels of shock, laughter, and disbelief.
  • On January 12, 2021, Botan holds a faux evening news segment in same vein to AsaCoco which features every other hololive members and the big news they had from the past year. When she featured Moona, it goes with a picture of Moona with a realistic smiling mouth, and Botan clarifies she's not making fun of Moona because the latter send it herself when the former asked for a picture of her. Botan also stated that Moona thought she will be an idol upon joining hololive but ended up becoming a comedian instead.
  • On January 10, 2021, YAGOO uploaded a short video giving a brief explanation of what Cover is and thanking all the hololive fans for their continued support. However, he explicitly called Cover an "entertainment company," which many fans have taken as him admitting that they're no longer an idol agency trying to create a "pure and wholesome" image.
  • During one of Miko's earlier 3D streams, Pekora makes her blow a kiss for her fans and when she does, she falls on all fours in embarrassment. She then vowed to make Pekora experience the same embarrassment when she gets her own 3D debut. Sure enough, Miko makes her go through that (among other things) and Pekora gets so embarrassed that she goes ballistic.
  • There were a few laughs to be had in the backstage of the Bloom concert:
  • Gura posted a rather rough drawing of her and Calli on Twitter, which caused Kiara to respond about how good it was treating Gura as if she was her and Calli's daughter. When someone replied suggesting that Gura earned a trip to the aquarium to see the sharks, it led to an interesting conversation about Kiara's parenting style.

Kiara: If she wants to look at sharks she better look in the mirror, or jump into the ocean, I can't take her to the damn aquarium every god damn week ffs

  • Marine says something seemingly profound, leading to Pekora praising her thoughtfulness. Marine reveals it's a line from Dragon Ball Z's opening theme song, CHA-LA HEAD-CHA-LA.
  • Calli held a drawing stream where she made her own rendition of Anya. The chat joking suggested that she draw her bald. Calli played along with the idea, but wasn't actually going to do it, though she did say that bald people actually are beautiful and shouldn't be judged for a lack of hair. Anya would later tweet that if she were to go bald, it would be for Calli-Sempai. Someone cautioned that Anya should think before she tweets, with a disturbing visual example.

    Anya: #BirthdayNewLook

  • March 15th is Shoe the World Day, so a hashtag for VTuber shoes started trending on Twitter.
    • Several people began joking that this hashtag was a ploy by Haachama to collect feet pics.
    • While most of the talent posted their shoes as requested, Ina posted a closeup of one of her tentacles, while Anya posted the photo of the tip of an actual keris.
    • Roboco posted an animated image of her flexing her non-humanoid robot feet, garnering a mixture of reactions ranging from fascinated to disturbed.
    • Before Amelia posted her shoes, her immediate Tweet prior was "I just came back, why is everyone posting feet, what's going on?!"
  • While various talents have had a history of being shadowbanned or demonetized by YouTube for many reasons, Haachama and Coco defy this by somehow getting a video classified by the algorithm as a "kids' video". The videos in question: Haachama's "BITCH MADE PASTA" and Coco's "ASACOCO FOR KIDS" — both using a crass or surreal humor that's most definitely not kid-oriented.
  • Hololive announced a compilation of piano sheets so that you can play your favorite hololive original on piano, including "BLUE CLAPPER", "Shiny Smily Story", and "Say! Fanfare". Right at the end of the song list, listed under "extra", is Ayame's Docchi Docchi "song".
  • During Calliope's birthday celebration, she took some call-ins. It started off heartwarming enough, with Watame singing Happy Birthday to her, and Kiara playing her own special birthday song. Then Ina came along.
  • Pamomi Ch. on Youtube uploaded a meme video that mashed up "Never Gonna Give You Up" with "ID:entity Voices". note The video has since been privated of their own volition.

Kureiji Ollie Ch. hololive-ID: PAMOMI... WE NEED TO TALK...

    Moona Hoshinova hololive-ID: .... bro

  • In the backstage of Nene's 3D debut, she reveals that she wore some brand new panties to fit the occasion and to lift her spirits. When proceeded to change her clothes, Lamy saw them and declared them to be super-lame. Nene defended her choice which led to the two having a debate on the merits of their own panty preferences. Coming to an impasse, they both decided to retaliate against each other by sharing to their own fans the others' style of underwear.
  • A number of the idols have been taking a quiz to properly name Japan's prefectures, with Kanata and Matsuri motivated by Noel promising to allow them to touch her knight-cups if they perfect it. Upon hearing this, Flare acted nonchalant while sharing that she bought matching bridal-themed lipstick for herself and Noel while Marine bragged that she can touch them at any time anyway.
    • Rushia sent a similar request with a different tone, asking Noel if she'll "give her breasts" should the necromancer get a perfect score. For this, Noel prepares a shirt graphic with "pettan" written on it, intending to wear it should Rushia achieve her goal to symbolically give her the breasts she so desires. Unfortunately, she's off by two points, so Noel sends the "pettan" shirt to her and she wears it on stream.
  • In the main channel, Towa and Watame host an ad stream for VTuber chips. Part of the draw are profile cards of various talents and Towa cards come up on two notable occasions:
  • On June 24 2021, the official Hololive and Cover Twitter accounts were given the verification mark. The same can't quite be said for some of the other accounts just yet.

Holostars Official, with a screenshot showing their rejected verification request: Why.

  • Following Coco's retirement, the hololive site updated to put "OG" next to her name. While it normally means "Original Girl", fans of Coco knew she wanted it to be "Original Gangster" (as it is in English speaking circles).
  • In the lead-up to IRyS's debut, Amelia tweeted about her hype. Calli responded "I'm a watnesser." Ina isn't impressed, and Calli's response is incredibly passive-aggressive with a side of Full-Name Ultimatum.

    Ame: im a witnesserer...are you?

    Calli: I'm a watnesser.

    Ina: There was an attempt

Calli: WOW SORRY I CAN NEVER BE ON YOUR LEVEL, INA'NIS.

  • During the lead-up to the release of the #holoENPrelude video, a noticable section of the chat started acting like a Cargo Cult, spamming "PRAY TO THE CUBE" in several different languages. When the holoENOmen video was uploaded two weeks later, history repeated itself, with most of pre-stream chat now consisting of "PRAY TO THE ORB". The same happened with the proper debut video, where the joke worship now shifted to "PRAY TO THE ROCK/ISLE"

Pat0723: Hololive EN main channel uploaded a premier. With 0 context in what it was going to be. All we did was just sat there for probably more then 6 hours with only the thumbnail of a Cube for context. Slowly, bit by bit we started to succumb towards it and a few hours before the premier went live we made a religion out of it and now we praise it 🙏PRAY TO THE CUBE🙏

  • At the beginning of August 2021, Cover opened a pop-up store in Akihabara to sell some hololive character goods. In order to better promote this, they also created the Mikodanye, a giant mascot suit of Sakura Miko. Fans and talent alike reacted with a mix of amazement and horror at it, with Miko herself using a few pictures of YAGOO seemingly about to be attacked and turning them into a "To Be Continued" meme.
  • Gura and Calli's KING cover is, for the most part, amazing. However, near the end the pair start goofily Scatting along to the music, and at the end Gura asks for a fistbump and Calli comments how sick it was. There's also the artwork: like most KING covers, it features the singer lounging on a throne. However, to accommadate there being two singers, Gura is sitting on Calli's lap, and they are wearing crowns note Normally, the artwork has the singer have a crown on their lap, with Calli having a hand on Gura's, seeming to keep it from falling off.
  • After Gura's memorable utterance of the word "Chikubi", A-chan laments that the shark is learning weird Japanese. She calls out for people to teach her more polite terms but, after the chat attributes Gura's knowledge of these terms to Coco and Kiara, relents that it's to be expected since this is hololive.
  • During Fubuki's 2021 birthday 3D concert, upon summoning the other three GAMERS to perform a cover of Momoiro Clover Z's "Nippon Egao Hyakkei", the group enters the stage in a seiza sitting position... except for Okayu, who is just plain lying on the floor. Korone's Double Take as the song begins is just icing on the cake.
  • During Ollie's 2021 birthday stream, she briefly converses with Amelia, who sends her birthday wishes and hopes to start playing chess with Ollie. Right before she ends the call, Amelia leaves on a high note and prompts Calli's response in the chat.

Amelia: Oh, by the way, I'm not wearing pants. [leaves]
    Calliope: MY MAN.
    Calliope: LEGEND.

  • In the introductory video to the "hololive EN Shorts" channel, they showcased all the English members giving their greeting. Except for Mumei, instead showing her say "I forgot".
  • The announcement of JP Gen 6, HoloX, coming just 9 hours before the first of them would debut. Furthermore, their character design and lore led to them quickly being dubbed "the chuunibyou generation". And then within 5 minutes of their announcement one of them had already gotten their Twitter account restricted.
  • During La+'s debut, Iofi and Ollie each live-tweeted their responses to people in the chat turning "Yes My Dark" into "Yagoo My Daddy".

    Iofi: Help
There's someone typed : Yagoo My Daddy in the comment
    I'm dying
Ollie: SOMEONE SAID YAGOO MY DAD AND I CANT ANYMORE WWWWWWWWWWWW

  • Towa sent out a tweet to wish Yagoo a happy birthday. His reply to that? "Omedetou."
  • Oga tweets to announce that he has received the verified mark. Iofi is unamused, leading to an exchange of emotes.

    Oga: Oha-Oga. Hi, I'm Oga☑.
    Iofi: Ha?
Oga: Iofi will also have it soon.
    Iofi: (´;ㅿ;`)
    Oga: (☉౪☉)
    Iofi: (ㆆ_ㆆ)

  • When Holo EN released a cover of "The Twelve Days of Christmas", some were quick to point out how fitting it was that Calli was day ten, which had "ten lords a-leaping" as its gift, considering her time spent playing Jump King. Meanwhile, Ina's "five golden rings" is significantly louder than the other girls' lines, and she pokes fun at it with "FIVE ONION RINGS"
  • During Towa's 3D live concert "Scream" on January 3, 2022, Okayu, Pekora and even Mio decided to troll Towa by performing Marine's "idol steps" after finishing the first chorus of "Candy-Go-Round", leaving the poor devil confused before recovering in time for the second verse.
  • External drama has led to Rushia taking a break to recuperate, but Haachama is there to offer her support. She puts forth a Tweet with the hashtag #WeLoveRussia note Through sheer coincidence Russia was threatening to invade Ukraine at the time, before quickly realizing her mistake and correcting it to #WeLoveRushia.
  • In January 2022 the ID girls decided to sing "id:entity voices" on Discord. Of course, with ID being ID the result turned out to be way more chaotic than it supposed to be, like the song turning into Shiny Smily Story and Blue Clapper at one point.see for yourself., t
  • HoloFes 2022 saw the use of real-life mascots based on in-universe mascots, the standout star being Smol Ame. Whoever they got for the suit nailed Amelia's mannerisms to a T. Fans joked that it really was Ame under there.
  • On March 17th of 2022, Ollie posted a video asking the other girls (and a few members of Holostars) an important question: Would they punch Ollie for a million dollars/yen? Most of the video is hilarious, starting with the fact that most of her fellow members of HoloID almost immediately said yes. Other standouts include:
    • Subaru (as usual) playing the metaphorical Straight Man and being baffled why she was asking the question
    • Ina and Kronii independently arriving at the same answer of "I'd rather hit on you instead"
    • Iofi wondering if someone more punchable than Ollie might arrive in ID Generation 3 (which ended up getting announced and starting debuts less than a week later)
    • Anya confusing the situation so much that they somehow ended up in a Dragon Ball reference.
    • Haachama says no, but she'd like to plan a project with Ollie instead using the million yen, then deciding the project would probably only cost 10,000 yen. Ollie's attempt to get her back on track simply result in both of them being confused.
    • Choco attempting to turn the situation into a business venture by offering various "abuse options" with different price ranges, leaving Ollie absolutely baffled note Part of the reason for this, as well as some of the other strange responses from the Japanese branch and Holostars, is due to the exact phrase Ollie uses being ambiguous, as it can also mean "Could you please hit me for a million yen?" or "Could you please hit me with a million yen?", meaning it could be taken as a request rather than simply a question
    • Towa insisting she would merely pat Ollie on the head instead (at which point the video overlays the text "TMT")
    • And of course, Bae's response when Ollie asked why she felt it was important to know where she would be punching Ollie:

      WHERE IS IMPORTANT

      FACE - YES

      • She also clarifies that she wouldn't hit her on the boob, and manages to get Ollie to admit she'd probably slap Bae if she didn't hit her.
    • Risu, Moona, Mumei, and Calli all independently come to the conclusion that, as a zombie, Ollie doesn't feel pain.
  • April 1st is the initiation ceremony of Nodoka, the new staff member. A-chan welcomes her and orients her to the place and the business.
    • Right off the bat, Nodoka's told that the office explodes a lot, courtesy of Holo no Graffiti shenanigans. A-chan says that she's developed a great endurance to withstand being caught in these explosions.
    • She's warned to enter the recording studio with caution, not because the microphones are sensitive, but because a lot of the talents are armed.
    • During a lunch break, A-chan warns her of emergency situations like a lack of food. Fortunately, according to her, several non-human talents (of note are Watame, Pekora and Kiara) are able to assist with these situations.
    • Sora comes in at the end, revealing that everything A-chan told her is just an April Fools' Day prank. They give her an initiation gift... which turns out to be a huge stack of documents that she has to sort out.
  • For April Fools Day 2022, Calli manifested a Distaff Counterpart named Calvin "C-Man" Morrison and managed to take over Calli's Twitter account. He immediately got into a twitter war with Haykos, who just shuts him down.

Calvin: TOLD SOUNDCLOUD I WAS 444 YEARS OLD AND THEY BANNED ME, SHIT AIN'T FAIR.
Haykos: go crawl back into your ceiling
Calvin: IM SORRY WHO EVEN IS THIS CLOWN
Haykos: clown bruh i aint a mirror
Calvin: WHY YOU GOT THAT FAKE ASS CUT THEN BOI
Haykos: this dude trippin. we go to the same f*cking barber.

  • Hololive Productions got a promotional collaboration with Shueisha, and various members were asked to give a few manga recommendations. Some of them are so on point they're worth a chuckle.
    • Korone, being Korone, recommends two retro classics (Dragon Quest: The Adventure of Dai and Kinnikuman)... and one total gorefest.
    • Mashle: Magic And Muscles gets one mention. Of course, it's from Noel.
    • Pekora and Polka both recommend Takopi's Original Sin as if it was a cutesy manga and most definitely not a horribly depressing romp that happens to star a cute animal thingy.
    • Roberu just cheerfully plugs his favorite Ecchi (To Love Ru and Ayakashi Triangle) with zero regrets.
    • Mumei's recommendations consist of "Tokyo Ghoul", "Tokyo Ghoul (Again)" and "Look I Just Really Like Tokyo Ghoul". Apparently there was a misunderstanding (she thought it was "up to" three recommendations, and assumed her manager would just send a rec for TG rather than translate and send her joke wholesale) but she's glad it ended up that way, because even she thinks it's hilarious.
  • A-Chan's major activity on the hololive subreddit starts with a post celebrating Nodoka's birthday. Her next known reddit interaction... is this comment, clearly showing she does browse the subreddit and has been aware of what goes on.
  • Sora's 2022 birthday 3D concert is mostly wholesome with the reveal of her newest costume resembling the white dress Kizuna Ai wore on her last live. Then we get to the guest appearances of Lui and IRyS, who are depicted as animated canvas of their Live2D avatars; at least it's better than a cardboard cutout of their character art.
  • When Kanata met IRyS for the first time IRL, she pretended to be Miko. Were it not for some of the other members present, the Nephilim might have walked away none the wiser to her senpai's prank.
